PacketCable™ Specifications — PacketCable Applications
PacketCable Applications
The specifications and technical reports in the following table define applications which make use of the PacketCable 2.0 SIP-based architecture.
PacketCable Residential SIP Telephony
The specifications and technical reports in the following table define residential telephony features for PacketCable 2.0 which are currently available on the public switched telephone network (PSTN). These include the most commonly used residential telephony features and capabilities, including caller ID, call forwarding, call hold, call transfer, three-way calling, emergency calling, and operator services.
PacketCable Cellular Integration
The PacketCable Cellular Integration specification in the following table defines voice call continuity requirements between PacketCable and circuit cellular networks defined by 3GPP and 3GPP2. The cellular integration requirements support the ability for PacketCable dual mode handsets to roam onto circuit cellular networks with PacketCable subscriptions, establish voice calls on PacketCable or circuit cellular networks, and provide continuous voice service for existing calls as the dual mode handset transitions between PacketCable and circuit cellular networks.
